Reviewing Crazy About You: Waterfront restaurant in the heart of Brickell, Miami.
Waterfront dining at Crazy About You
Miami offers many waterfront dining options, but these can often range from mildly pricey to outrageously expensive for the average Joe. For a surprisingly affordable experience, Crazy About You in Brickell fits the bill.
International dishes with a twist
This restaurant offers an array of international dishes with an unusual twist. The menu is split into three price offerings, whereby you get a free appetizer with your main entrée. For example, a selection of main entrées is offered at three different price points. They also offer their house chardonnay, merlot, and cabernet wine by the glass or bottle for amounts that will still leave enough money in your wallet to afford ice cream during your after-dinner stroll along the waterfront. That is if you can resist the dessert items.
Reasonable prices, exceptional views
Not only are the prices reasonable, but Crazy About You offers the most gorgeous views from the water’s edge in the heart of Brickell. The decor in this establishment has a real WOW factor, with a romantic ambiance conjured from the trifecta of candles dotted everywhere, overhead twinkling string lights, and the warm sea breezes. Considering the views and fresh ocean air, outside on the patio is where you want to be. However, sometimes Miami weather can be unpredictable, and I have also dined in the chic indoor room.
Try “I can’t believe it is not pasta carbonara chicken”
For our meal, we shared the tostones and bruschetta appetizer, which comes with Roma tomatoes, strawberries, basil, balsamic glaze, parmesan, and olive oil. My husband tried the freshly cut Angus churrasco, which came with shoestring fries. I opted for the “I can’t believe it is not pasta carbonara chicken.” This is a beautiful dish of zucchini pasta with grilled chicken and bacon in an abundant, creamy sauce. We finished the meal off with the “oh wow,” a baked Spanish cheesecake.
Inventive cocktails at Crazy About You
For our drinks, we both tried their house wine, which was of surprisingly good quality. Later on, we had some cocktails at the bar. We sampled the Firehouse 1923, which is made with Don Julio Blanca Tequila, Ancho Reyes Chili Verde Liqueur, lime juice, muddled grave nectar, and a jalapeño slice. What is fun about this particular cocktail is that they soak the jalapeño slice with alcohol and then set it alight. Once the flame dwindles out, it adds another level of smokiness and depth to the beverage.
Crazy About You Final Review
Another thing I appreciate about Crazy About You is their ethos. On each dining table, they offer a wooden box for your cell phones. The following is written on each box: “By placing your cell phone here, we promise that you will have a more enjoyable dinner, improvement in your relationships, and definitely a better gastronomic experience.” Also, refreshingly, they do not automatically add on a gratuity charge; they allow you to decide what you want to tip. With a gentle sea breeze, a view of Miami’s glittering skyline, a romantic ambiance, and great food, what’s not to love?
