Reviewing Proud Pie: Pie paradise right outside of Houston.

Cherry Pie, Proud Pie, Katy
Cherry Pie (Proud Pie, Katy)

Proud Pie is an excellent privately owned pie shop near Houston that has every reason to be proud. Many other pie places in Houston often use too much artificial filling. This establishment uses butter instead of oil to make its pie crusts. All pies are made only using the finest organic ingredients. The quality and freshness are on point.

Lemon Buttermilk Pie (Proud Pie, Katy)

I first discovered Proud Pie from an advertisement on Yelp. My favorite pie flavors are cherry and peach. Both received a lot of praise in their reviews. Any great dish or dessert is worth a drive and a purchase. My first impression was incredibly positive.

Proud Pie celebrated National Pi Day on March 14 by handing out free samples to all customers. The inside of this store was packed with excited people wanting a delicious pie. Despite the large crowd, the staff kept the line moving faster than expected. The cherry pie is one of Proud Pie’s top-selling items. Each slice is about $6. One bite can easily convince diners of its extraordinary taste and quality with its buttery crumbled crust and an ample number of cherries. The cherry pie here is sweet and tart, but not too sour. The pies at Proud Pie vary in sweetness levels but are expertly prepared to perfection.

Peach Pie, Proud Pie, Katy

The slice of peach pie was superb, tasting extremely delicious and fresh. It contains a spiced cookie crust full of fresh, succulent peach slices, and it is another very popular pie here. The peach filling was sweeter than the cherry but just as delicious. Depending on your individual taste preferences, these pies are both winners. The chocolate fudge pie here is also fantastic with its rich brownie taste and texture. It’s flavorful and moist, has a buttery crust, and, like the other pies, it’s made with love. Some other tasty pies with both sweetness and lemon zest are the blueberry and lemon buttermilk. It is common to see customers purchase more than one pie when leaving. The bourbon pecan pie is another wonderful choice with its sweetness and richness.

Besides the superior pies, Proud Pie also provides incredibly efficient service. They sell cookies, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches. This establishment is usually open seven days a week for brunch and evening visits. They sometimes have specialty pies on occasion that come and go after about a week or so. From my firsthand experience, the consistency of the pies here is always top-notch in all aspects. This is important to make the trips worthwhile without disappointment. I can personally say that I sometimes drive about 45 minutes from my house to Proud Pie because their pies are noticeably superior in flavor, style, and grade to the ones closer to my area. The people of Katy, Texas are incredibly lucky to have Proud Pie.
