Reviewing Fiasco: Italian pasta, wine, pizza, and cocktails in Seattle.

Chop Salad, Fiasco, Seattle
Chop Salad (Fiasco, Seattle)

Immediately when you enter Fiasco, you are greeted by the happy staff and struck by friendly environment. This neighborhood Italian restaurant can get pretty busy  but I think that adds to the charm of the restaurant and is a testament to how much people love this place. Fiasco is located in the Wallingford-Fremont area and is a short drive away from Gas Works Park, another amazing Seattle attraction.

The restaurant is fairly casual, and the interior is cute and chic. Their bar is a focal point. There is a black trimmed wall for alcohol with flowery wallpaper behind. The curved gold bar top sits atop a teal paneled base and is complimented nicely by a olive-green menu board. To top it all off, string lights outline the area for the glasses. The bar area is very charming and lots of people enjoy sitting up there. The layout of the restaurant is very comfortable and they have a variety of seating: low tables, high tables, and outdoor seating. Although I have yet to sit there, there is also a table that has swinging benches, similar to a rocking bench. One of the walls of the restaurant is made up of all glass sliding doors, which allows for great light to enter the establishment. This is great for the summer when more people are sitting outdoors because they can convert the space into an indoor-outdoor area.

Margherita Pizza, Fiasco, Seattle
Margherita Pizza (Fiasco, Seattle)

Be conscious of what day you want to dine at Fiasco. Unfortunately, they are closed on Mondays but their Tuesday and Wednesday deals make up for it! As of this writing, on Tuesdays, you can order your choice of two pastas, arugula salad, two chocolate chip cookies, and a bottle of red or white wine for only 65 dollars- this is perfect for a date night. On Wednesdays between 4:30 and 6, you get buy one, get one free pizza for dine-ins. However, any day of the week, you can get four pizzas for 70 dollars. All three of these deals are such great values and therefore good excuses to dine at Fiasco all the time.

On their menu they have pizza, pasta, salads, and burgers. Their chop salad is my favorite because of the variety of ingredients in it. Garbanzo beans, pepperoncini, black olives, cheese, cherry tomatoes, salami, red onions, and romaine lettuce are complimented by a sweet, tangy dressing. Knowing that the salad is very large, I split it and a margherita pizza with a friend.

Their margherita pizza was excellent. The crust was thin with chewy edges, and the mozzarella was fresh and creamy. Both dishes were refreshing and comforting- just what I was craving. The meal was simple but done right with ingredients prepared in order to make the most out of every flavor. The service was wonderful as well. Our waiter was attentive and got our order in quickly. We got the salad first as an appetizer and soon after our pizza was ready too. The experience at Fiasco is friendly and comforting and I will definitely be coming back to enjoy the rest of their menu, hopefully on a Tuesday or Wednesday!
