Reviewing Bondi Sushi: A one-of-a-kind sushi bar in New York City.
Are you ready to start embracing your “main character energy” in New York City? Well, you’re in luck because I have the best sushi restaurant just for you – Bondi Sushi.
They have several locations around New York City. This one-of-a-kind sushi bar serves classic omakase-style sashimi and hand rolls for half the price. When walking into the restaurant, you are greeted with a hibachi-style table with barstools to sit on. This restaurant is very lively and serves your food quite quickly. There are typically three sushi chefs in front of the diners, constantly cooking up and preparing everybody’s meal. The chefs are always beyond respectful and take their time crafting your delicious meal.
Everyone is usually dressed casually, so there is no need to be dressed to the nines for this place. You can keep it casual and comfortable while eating some of the best sushi you will ever have. However, if you’re not feeling like sitting at the restaurant, they have to-go sushi attached to their main restaurants. You can eat a box of sushi at home, although the experience is not the same, the sushi is still spot on.
I recommend the Bondi Best from their to-go options since it includes all their fan-favorite picks. The price range for this kind of establishment is very reasonable. I would suggest going between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for lunch because they have one of the best specials in the city. Starting at $22, you can get one appetizer, two nigiri pieces, and one hand roll. From these courses, I would definitely urge you to try the Yellow Tail Jalapeño, the O Toro Nigri, the Seared Wagyu Nigri, and the Hot and Spicy Crab Handroll. They also accommodate low-carb diets by offering a cauliflower substitute for just an additional $2. The mission of Bondi Sushi is to serve the highest quality of fish to customers, which I firmly agree with.
I’ve been to Bondi Sushi three times in the last six months, which is noteworthy considering I’m a high school student who rarely visits the city. Bondi Sushi also has multiple locations around the city, but I specifically recommend their restaurant in the Flatiron Building in Midtown Manhattan.
The ambiance of this restaurant is one I’ve never seen before. During my first visit, a celebrity was dining next to me. The only downside to this restaurant is that it is not that COVID-friendly. Since the seating is not spaced apart, social distancing is difficult for diners to maintain. To avoid this issue, I advise coming between 11 a.m-12 p.m. or 2-3 p.m. So, if you are looking to start embracing your newfound main character energy, check out Bondi Sushi to fulfill your starring role.
